What defines a Voyeur?
Voyeuristic people are people who are aroused by watching other people undress or perform sexual acts. They love to play with visual stimuli and enjoy the role of spectator. A Voyeur is therefore less of a BDSM role in the sense that it indicates a status such as top or bottom, but more of a preference or fetish.
Where does the term come from?
The term Voyeur comes from the French and means observer. In the literal sense of voyeurism this is actually a criminal offense, as it refers to secret observation. If the person or persons being observed know about it, it would more correctly be called “candaulism”. Nevertheless, the term Voyeur has become established in the language. When we talk about the deviance of Voyeurs, we are assuming, as usual, that it is consensual.
Who matches with a Voyeur?
The classic counterpart to voyeuristic people are Exhibitionists, i.e. people who derive pleasure from being watched and presenting themselves.
Voyeurism can be integrated well on both the dominant and submissive side. The Dom, Master or Mistress can take on an observational role during a session and, for example, ask the Sub or Bottom to masturbate or watch several submissive people playing together.
On the submissive side, for example, the role of a Cuckold or Cuckquean is a good fit, who then watches the Hotwife or Cuckoldress and Bull or Cuckcake during sex.
How can I tell if I am a Voyeur?
Does watching others during lovemaking excite you? Do you love watching your partner undress or masturbate? Do you sometimes get more out of watching than actively playing along yourself? Then you are most likely a Voyeur.
As a Voyeur, it is important that…
… you do not overstep the boundaries of legality. Observing people undressing, grooming or engaging in sexual activities without their knowledge and consent is a criminal offense and can be punished with a fine and even a prison sentence of up to one year.
