What exactly is a sperm stopper?

A sperm stopper, also called a urethral plug, penis plug or “cum stopper”, is a sex toy that is used to stimulate the urethra in people with a penis. Essentially it consists of two parts: a ring that is pushed over the head of the penis and holds the sperm stopper in position under the glans, and a movable hook. At the end there is a ball that is inserted into the urethra.

What do you use a sperm stopper for?

In BDSM, sperm stoppers are used both for sexual stimulation and for painful and humiliating punishment, for example in so-called sounding. Basically, as the name suggests, this toy prevents the semen from leaving the penis during ejaculation. Depending on the context, this type of game is also known as cockstuffing. With a very similar toy, the prince’s scepter, sperm and urine can usually drain away.

The backlog is intended to intensify and prolong the orgasm. Retrograde ejaculation may occur. This means that some of the sperm reaches the urinary bladder, which can be detected by whitish protein threads in the urine. This pressure is found by many to be very exciting and for some to be painful. Some even experience sexual stimulation by moving the plug or stretching the urethra, which can lead to orgasm.

What do I have to consider when using it?

Hygiene, hygiene, hygiene. The urethra area is incredibly susceptible to infections and germs. First, the toy itself and your hands should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. To avoid injury, it is advisable to use a lubricant, preferably sterile catheter lubricant.

As always, go slowly and start with a small size. It may make sense to stretch the urethra slightly with a thin dilator. If there is pain that differs significantly from the pressure described above, stimulation with the sperm stopper should be stopped immediately.

To insert the sperm stopper, the ring is first folded away as far as possible and a drop of sterile lubricant is placed on the ball. With the thumb and index finger of the other hand – if available – the foreskin is first pushed back, then the penis mouth is carefully opened and the ball is carefully inserted. The knob on which the ring is attached points downwards towards the penile frenulum.

If resistance is felt, the plug can simply be pulled back a little and the direction corrected. As soon as the plug is in, the ring is pulled over the glans to the glans ring. When everything is in place, the fun can begin. To remove the sperm stopper, simply follow the steps backwards. Long-term use is not recommended.

What do I need to consider when buying?

For beginners, it is recommended to start with the smallest urethral plug and then slowly increase by inserting scepters with a larger diameter.

Also make sure that the ring around the glans has the right diameter and is solidly made. It is very important that the ball is really tight. If it becomes loose and disappears into the urethra, it may no longer be possible to remove it yourself. And while you’re at it, pack some sterile lubricant.
